City Hunter - 48: O, Spring Comes Soon to Love's Widow--Take Off Those Clothes of Mourning

Title:City Hunter
Episode:48: O, Spring Comes Soon to Love's Widow--Take Off Those Clothes of Mourning
Synopsis
Ryo is flirting with girls on the street, with his usual amount of tact--i.e., getting repeatedly slapped and kicked. Watching him through binoculars is a man who admires his "indomitable fighting spirit" and "insatiably lusting heart"--traits which make him ideal for a task which the man, Kudo, has in mind. Ryo initially refuses to be hired by Kudo, since he was referred to him by Saeko Nogami, who owes him a tremendous debt of unpaid mokkori. But when Kudo mentions that the woman he wants Ryo to "guard" is beautiful, young, wealthy and especially a widow, Ryo does an abrupt about-face...
Comments
I especially like the way the climactic action scene was handled in this episode--namely, a mix of action and comedy. All too often the action scenes are repetitive and uninteresting, and it's the completely seperate comedy that makes the show worth watching. I hope we see more of this in the future.
