Apprentice mechanic Lean and his mentor, Zante, are at work aboard a barge which raises a long abandoned Decimator from the floor of the sea. A Revillian flying boat, commanded by Imperial Guard officer Lt. Manning, pays them a visit. Revilia and Zafrin are on the verge of war, and the country needs all the Decimators it can get, so Manning insists that they accompany the Decimator as it is flown back to base, and perform whatever repairs they can along the way. En route, however, the plane is jumped by a Zafrin Decimator and is badly damaged. In an act of desperation, Lean boards the recovered Decimator and is dropped from the plane to do battle with their adversary...

| In the original Orguss TV series, a "Space/Time Oscillation Bomb" was detonated, which had the effect of merging several parallel universes into one. This is that hybrid dimension, a couple of centuries afterwards. I must admit this series is a little slow getting started, and it seemed as if the VAs of my dubbed version were having some trouble getting accustomed to the roles thet are playing (but they get their acts together before long). Lean defeating a trained Decimator pilot is a bit of a stretch, but wasn't the trick he used at the end cool? Afterwards events take off in all directions, involving deadly sentry robots, Revilian political intrigue, and the debt Zante had incurred. Clearly an intriguing, complex plot is coming together! |
