Well, this was definitely not the sort of anime you see everyday. It seemed fundamentally different from the remainder of the series. Basically, we get a look at the lives of the four unsuccessful but still alive God candidates after Naukami gets the job, and Naukami's reaction to it. The doings of the four were amusing and cathartic. But Naukami finds that being God is not what he had expected, becomes disillusioned, and ultimately takes a drastic action. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to put a morbidly depressed person in charge. I didn't fully understand it--who was writing those messages that appeared on scraps of paper?--and can't exactly describe it as a happy ending, but it seemed powerful nevertheless. For example, the professor struggling to make sense of it all. Many at ANN absolutely hated this conclusion, but I felt it was likely the most interesting episode of the series as a whole--though that does not set an extremely high bar.
