Stretch: Episode nine startled me with the way things leapt forward from Eren's miraculous survival to him, Arnim and Mikasa being virtually in front of a firing squad. That was kind of discordant. We do get a vague explanation of how Eren managed to survive--I had virtually forgotten about his scientist father. Will there ever be an explanation of how the Titans can regenerate from anything but an absolutely fatal injury, and apparently appear and disappear into thin air? I wonder if in the end it will be revealed that this is all taking place in earth's future and some sort of freaky genetic experiments led to the Titans. This show was at it's best in episode eight, now I don't know where it's going or where I stand. That might be good, or it might not. 'Unpredictable' is one term that seems to apply to ShinKyo, perhaps because it's a breakaway show with an original premise rather than based on some already well-established genre, like mecha.
