Synopsis
Stretch: Man, Shichika's sister Nanami is messed up! In episode seven she goes on a murderous rampage, then acquires one of the twelve blades and challenges him to a duel. The problem is, this episode didn't make a whole lot of sense. If it was supposed to be tragic, it's hard to feel sorry for Nanami after what she has done. The comedy seemed discordant when matched to the violence--the total opposite of what happened in the brilliant episode four. And what was going on in Nanami's head, anyway? Was she jealous of Shichika? Was she hurting and wanted to be put out of her misery? Had she gone insane? In the end, I can't help feeling that a fascinating character was sacrificed for the sake of a mediocre episode.
