Title:Golgo 13 (TV)
Episode:21: Garimpeiro
Synopsis
The sole survivor of a murderous raid on a village in the ↗Amazon River basin begs Duke to take revenge on the culprits, a band of outlaws known as the "Garimpeiro". But how will he find these guerillas, while simultaneously dealing with the police, who are as dishonest and dangerous as the bandits?

Garimpeiro - A Portuguese word for a gold or precious stone seeker. The rumour of new found riches can still lead to a goldrush. In the Amazon there are frequent fights between indians and garimpeiros about rights to extract gold or mine precious stones. [source:BrazilNow Dictionary].

Comments
Whereas the last episode seemed to deal with a routine job which went off without a hitch, I found this one much more exciting. The outlandish yet strangely plausible scheme which Duke came up with to draw in the Garimpeiro was great. While episode 20 had no serious plot twists, this one was strange, unpredictable and fun. Like the Fuckmnack subtitler, I too didn't recognize Duke in disguise--for a while I thought somebody was trying to frame him for the hijacking. Him leaving the ransom money behind was mystifying at first but made perfect sense later on--thus, it was fun. The massacre at the end wasn't handled in a completely professional manner, but when the bad guys are guilty of the sort of crimes which the Garimpeiro committed, I didn't care and thoroughly enjoyed it. Duke's acquaintances at the FBI watching by satelite was pretty cool, too. Perhaps best of all, Duke accepting and carrying out such a questionable job for unconventional payment makes me like him even more.
