Synopsis

ronde (italian: rondo, french: rondeau) - usually referring to a musical form. A principal theme (sometimes called the "refrain") alternates with one or more contrasting themes, generally called "episodes," but also occasionally referred to as "digressions," "couplets," or "subordinate themes." The number of themes can vary from piece to piece, and the recurring element is sometimes embellished or shortened in order to provide for variation.

In the past, Ayu-chan makes her second wish of Yuuichi. In the present, Yuuichi is having difficulties dealing with Ayu's disappearance and Nayuki does her part to help him out. Kitagawa-kun and Nayuki help Yuuichi find Ayu's missing item. Yuuichi remembers a horrible thing he did to Nayuki as a kid. Nayuki's mother is in a car accident.

Well, I was completely wrong in thinking that Nayuki would get no story. She is, but while slowly advancing Ayu's story. As the episode played and Yuuichi puzzled over Ayu's disappearance, I kept thinking how little Yuuichi is using his brain (IMO). Mokona gets a name drop and Mai is recalled via the snow bunny, which was nice. The flashback to the event that happened to Nayuki as a child was kinda tough to watch, but it does make you wonder about her today. Beyond that, I can't say much for the episode.

I don't understand it. I watched this episode (whose equivalent was the absolute highlight of Kanon 2002) and didn't feel a thing, just like reading the synopsis above. The way they presented the final scene was so matter-of-factly, compared to the dramatic develoment in the Toei version... this isn't really my series, I guess.
