Imawa no Kuni no Alice

The whole point of this OVA is to provide a small sample of what this title's manga source material offers with its survival game premise as a group of friends get whisked to a post-apocalyptic world competing in a series of deadly games in order to survive. This story element offers up its fair share of suspense with the games, though its heavy focus on them does limit any care you may have for the characters struggling in them. Not giving a hoot about the characters due to the lack of fleshing out becomes apparent in its final episode with the cruel twist of a survival game offered up with it. I suppose if you want to see more of what this series offers in a TV series medium, there is currently a live-action adaptation of the series offered on Netflix that may be more worth your time to check out.
