Hime Shiraki is a cute girl who hopes to use her looks and talent for acting like an angel to hook a high society millionaire as her husband someday. After a little accident she comes upon the Cafe Liebe, a business where a group of girls use role playing skill to entertain their customers. One girl, Mitsuki Ayanokouji, entrances her, but the feeling is not mutual.

(Three episodes watched):

So, I sort of understand the premise: Shiraki has been tricked into taking a job at the Cafe Liebe, and her skill at pretending to be a nicer girl than she really is comes in handy. She falls for Ayanokouji (purple hair) at first sight, but Ayanokouji sees through her(?) and finds her annoying. Or something like that. What with all the acting they do it can be tricky to keep track of what things they really mean. And I'm not sure these are nice girls that Shiraki would be wise to hang around with. Episode one was sort of amusing but this show will need an interesting plot as well, and I'm not sure yet if it will have one. But it might, so I will watch episode two.

In episode two Shiraki's very shy and blue-haired friend back at school learns about this strange job and gets hired by the Cafe Liebe herself. And contrary to what one would expect, she seems to be a much better waitress/actor than Shiraki herself. It was OK, but I was not excited by this turn of events. Maybe we haven't gotten to know any of the characters well enough to be introducing new ones. Blue-haired girl (I forgot to note her name) has a distinct jealousy about anyone else getting close to 'her' best friend, but that didn't seem either particularly funny or dramatic to me.

In episode three we get a surprise: Shiraki and Ayanokouji had met before the former came to the Cafe Liebe. After all, Ayanokouji has the same hair color as the girl who once traumatized Shiraki, and how many purple-haired girls can there be? my response was more along the lines of 'Oh, come on' than being thrilled. On the other hand, the way Shiraki comes clean about her strategy of making friends by lying was sort of neat. I sort of get the feeling that this show could have been dramatic and touching, or it could have been humorous, but it tries to be both and doesn't quite have the resources. I decided that I would quit watching for now but would save the remaining episodes just in case I ever felt an urge to watch the rest of this show.
