A floating space without gravity where an infinite number of lights shine in different colors: The "Box of Wisdom." Inside of this box, there are multiple worlds, multiple timelines, and there used to be many different people. This is where Dual and Dorothy were fighting with enemies called "Viruses." Worlds infected by viruses must be erased. That is the duty, the job of these girls. However, one day, Dual and Dorothy feel the presence of a new Virus. Arriving at the scene, they see a girl being attacked by Viruses. After saving the girl, the duo wait for her to awaken so they can ask who she is, where she came from, and where she is going. Finally, when the girl opened her eyes, she gave her name, Remo, and whispered only one sentence... "I must return to the flower patch..."

Garakowa is pretty much "cute girls doing cute things" with attempts to implement drama when our three main gals, who are personifications of anti-viruses and computer program, in their computer operating system learn more of the true workings of the OS they were created to protect. While it has some interesting ideas that it explores such as humanity being too dependent on technology and the dangers of attempting to create a perfect world, these are largely overlooked throughout much of the film's run with the whole "cute girls doing cute things" gimmick being milked by Remo, Dorothy, and Dual as a good middle section of Garakowa gets wasted with the three going through virtual worlds of different time periods in human history while J-Pop music accompanies it, making it feel too much like wasted padding. The attempts to explain how said operating system was created and what happened with humanity is mostly told through dumping exposition and awkwardly placing flashbacks of influential creators of the system, obviously attempting to compress the more serious elements of the anime's story. Had this film had a more longer running time and cut out much of the "cute girls doing cute things" padding, it could have made for more powerful and effective storytelling with how the finale of the film pans out. But as it is, Garakowa only gets by with its gorgeous presentation and "cute girls doing cute things" gimmickry to appeal to fans of moe. Otherwise, it's mostly forgettable fare.
