Three sisters, Hozuki, Kazuki, and Hazuki, are descendants of Galileo and have completely different personalities and tastes; they never meet eye-to-eye. One day, the girls are suddenly attacked by a mysterious organization. The organization was after the "Galileo Tesoro" which Galileo Galilei was said to have discovered. Still unaware of what was going on, the sisters escape on the airship they built after the sudden attack. But it won't be so easy for these three sisters to help each other out in a pinch when they're constantly at odds with each other. What is the Tesoro, and what is the organization after? And what about the relationship between the sisters? It's a threesome of cute girls, action, and mystery!

This was a mess. Galilei Donna started off solidly at first with its focus on the three Ferrari sisters being hunted down by mysterious agents and sky pirates, as well as being framed for crimes they didn't commit as they try tracking down details on the Galileo Tesoro, the family's hidden treasure as the three are descendants of famous scientist Galileo Galilei. The series gets by at first due to the charming personality of the sisters and the sky pirates they encounter. But gradually, the quality of the series tanks with later episodes dragging with the hunt for the different Galileo pages by the sisters, a good amount of dependence on deus ex machina to save the sisters from seemingly dire situations, a rather shallow major baddie, things getting ridiculous with what the truth concerning the Galileo Tesoro's purpose, and a rushed conclusion that resolves things way too conveniently. The animation is above par for a TV anime series with gorgeous scenic shots, well-detailed character and mechanical designs, and fluid animation shown nicely during action sequences. But this and some of the engaging characters are not enough to save this series from utter mediocrity due to how sloppy its storytelling gets in later episodes.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:2796#628]
(One episode watched):

Wasn't this show supposed to be one of the outstanding ones of the season? That was what I had heard before watching it myself, but that wasn't the impression I came away with. Three mecha viciously trash a 'methane-hydrate mine'; why? Who did it? No answer. A group of kidnappers come looking for the three Galilei sisters; but these guys aren't terribly violent, so I wonder if they had anything to do with the attack on the mine. But if that's so, why was it included in the episode at all? Nobody else mentions it. Does one of these girls build homemade flying machines (with unusual shapes)? That would suggest that the family has plenty of money, which would explain the interest in the 'Galilei inheritance'. But that wouldn't make much sense from the angle of setting up an interesting premise for an anime. This episode never did grab my interest. We never really get to know the sisters, so why should I care if they are kidnapped or not? They seems like cool, clever-tongued girls who nevertheless have little personality and substance to them. And that's a common characteristic of shows that are supposed to thrill us, but in fact never interest me much at all. I don't think I laughed once; if I don't know what's going on, I don't know what's funny and what isn't. This seems like an attempt to convert the DaVinci Code into an anime, and if the attempt to endear the three sisters to me has misfired this badly, I doubt if whatever amazing discovery has remained hidden from the Renaissance to the future will be all that astonishing either. Perhaps I'll watch another episode, but with a flood of new shows currently available, I'm not going to hang around for long in hopes that things will improve.

Unevaluated Devil Doll [series:2796#752]
The reason why I'm not watching this show is that it's a threesome of very different elements instead of focusing on any single one of it. The "cute quirky italian girls" element doesn't go together too well with the "mysterious attack by baddies" plot.
