Set after the end of Galaxy Angel, the main girl of the Angel Brigade is Millfieule's sister Apricot (Rico) (The blond in front). The team is now 5 including Kaluha/Tequila who changes every time she is exposed to alcohol, and Anise who seems to owe Mint a lot of money. They live in a small apartment who's manager appears to be an okama. They also appear to be more of a police force than a recovery service. It also features yuri, pantsu, and all nudity is covered up with a 'Keep Out' tape.

Yes, Galaxy Angel: Rune was distinctly boring--the first new show of the fall 2006 season which I can honestly say that about. Going in, everything about the first scene was so completely unlike the previous Galaxy Angel series that I wondered if they really had anything in common. they do, but not much. Why did Broccoli ditch the original cast? The only links I detected was a mention of one of the characters owing Mint some money, and Apricot's last name being Sakuraba, which would presumably make her a relative of Millefeulle. It's like they've taken the loveable original cast and replaced them with generic, stereotypical ones (that cat is a poor substitute for Normad). The new cast seems lifeless and even obnoxious at times--not the kind of girls I'd want to hang around with. In fact, "obnoxious" is a word which seems to apply to this show as a whole. Apricot beating the crap out of a guy just because he touched her was more disturbing than funny, as was the alcoholic/aggresively lesbian team member (Kahlua?) and the S&M freak, "The Baron" (I hope he'll be gone after this episode). It's as if the writers thought human suffering was somehow amusing--a completely different style of comedy from the silly, nonsensical one of the past. The Galaxy Angel genre seems to have been at it's best with it's original incarnation, then gone downhill from there; slowly at first, but precipitously now. The original Angels had their faults (except Millefeulle, of course), but they were clearly good at heart. These replacements, on the other hand, have a nasty, cynical attitude to them, as does the show in general. It's kind of tragic that this appalling travesty of the genre is finally being shown in full 23-minute format! Galaxy Angel: Rune is more like a dark, embittered parody of the original series than a continuation of it. It might not be a bad idea to do as those yellow tapes say, and "Keep Out"....

Hmmm...first episode watched

Honestly it was pretty boring. I don't know if this was a beginner episode but it just jumps right into the plot and assumes you know what's going on.

8/26 - Ok what Dumbass thought that
  • 1 - Lets not make a dub for it.
  • 2 - Lets only put 1 episode on it.
  • 3 - Lets charge $29.95 for it.
What a marketing bonehead move. But at least the subs for the first episode make more sense and aren't as boring as the fansubs were.
