Upon turning ten years old everyone is supposed to be bestowed with a 'class' by the Goddess Kadeus, which enables you to attain the appropriate skills for your line of work. What with his mother being the Sword Princess Farah and his father the Archmage Leon, it is assumed that Arel will be granted a prestigious Class as well. But as far as the priest can tell, Arel hasn't been given any class at all, which is almost unheard of. Arel had hoped to be a swordsman, after training with his mother for years, and decides that he will just have to train even harder to compensate and will become just as good a swordsman as those within the class.

Mushoku no Eiyuu: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakattan da ga
(One episode watched):
Everybody knows that when the protagonist of a show is given an abysmal rating in some sort of test, what it really means is that his skills are actually off the scales and the ignorant people performing the test are unable to recognize this. After being whipped by Arel in a practice match, a swordsman-class boy concludes that "You must have inherited some innate talent from her (Farah) to fight that was without a class", which is a handy workaround. In short order Arel has found a way to not just duplicate but improve on a technique ('twin blade slice') that ought to be available only to those of the swordsman class. "Simply put" Arel explains, "anybody with enough strength and speed can do it". And what's more, since Arel's technique isn't based on a skill there are no restrictions on how far he can take it. It seems that by virtue of all the hard work that Arel has (and will) put into training, he's actually even better than class members. There must be a large market in Japan for anime and manga targetted at people who feel they've been underrated in the videogame world. Problem is, I never detected anything really original about this show. It seemed to have a simple plot, simple message, and simple main character. Good for you, Arel, that you have found a solution to your problem, but I have better things to do than see how your career as a classless swordsman works out. The animation is simple as well--the fight with a hobgoblin wasn't very exciting. Arel is still ten years old and it looks like the bulk of the story will take place a good ways in the future (is that Arel's sister who would love for him to kiss her accompanying him?), but if it's not interesting now it probably won't be then.
