A third Squad Jam competition is upcoming within GGO, but LLENN is unenthusiastic. The last thing she wants is another fight with her near-psychotic rival, Pito. Pito proposes a solution: instead of enemies, why don't they be comrades this time?

(Two episodes watched):

I wanted to re-watch the final episode of season one to refresh my memory about this six year old show, but couldn't for the life of me find the DVD. After re-reading my review, maybe that was because I never made one--I awarded the show just a 'Watch' rating. It seemed absurdist and hard to take seriously. Anyway, I watched episode one of season two. Pito uses a promise LLENN once made to 'The Amazons'/'SHINC', the all-female team, to give them another chance to beat her, to persuade her to take part in Squad Jam 3. Also in her team, 'LPFM', will be 'M' and Miyu. We are re-introduced to the highly competitive teams LLENN's will be up against. Several of them have been training feverishly to prepare for the competition while the members of LLENN's basically just show up. Apparently they will be trusting on good luck and Pito's manic leadership to carry them through. And losing would not be the end of the world for LLENN. The game is just about to begin as episode one ends. I guess I will need to see some of the actual action to get an idea of whether this sequel is about the same or any better or worse than the original.

And the actual action sucked. How are the LPFM members able to decipher the intentions of the other teams from several flares they see? Is it standard operating procedure to bring flares to Squad Jam just in case you need to send just such a signal to your rivals? LPFM's tactical plan is stupid and there's no way anyone could be lucky enough to dodge as many bullets as LLENN does, even if they are tiny. She is wounded in the ankle yet still runs and runs and runs. Pito and Miyu treat this all as a joke. And LLENN is able to make the best choice of where to go by calculating the speed of sound? I doubt if even a computer would have the time to do that. Getting themselves surrounded in a railroad car in the middle of a wide open yard was near suicidal--except, of course, that Pito has a 'photon sword'. Now it makes perfect sense! Why didn't anyone open up on Pito at the moment when she first showed herself to taunt the enemy? It would be more likely that every single one of the enemy would fire than that none would. And the trajectory of bullets and grenades is given away by these laser-like 'bullet tracks'? Basically, this bears litle resemblance to actual combat and is so ridiculous that I decided to drop the series altogether. If the laws of physics and basic principles of tactics do not apply, then why should I watch? I can only guess that the idea was to make this sequel a comedy rather than a serious drama, but nobody hired any credible joke writers.
