(One episode watched):
Makoto's secret, of course, is that he's an otokonoko, a cross-dresser of some sort. We get no hint in episode one of why he does this, and I fear we never will. In fact none of the three main characters has a personality that seemed at all interesting to me. Saki doesn't mind if the person she has fallen in love with turns out to be of the opposite gender than she had expected; again, I suspect why will never be explained. This show bounces back and forth between the normal character designs (which aren't all that detailed to begin with) and superdeformed ones, which are so common that it seems as if the show was animated in two different styles due to a shortage of money or something like that. It definitely doesn't seem as if this was done because the SD designs or the lines being spoken while they are being displayed were particularly funny, because they aren't. My impression was that this show was trying very hard to be funny but was overdoing it and thereby failing. Without either deep characters or decent jokes I just cannot see any reason to watch this show.
