Well, I guess what we have here is another example of a show where the basic premise is a joke, but afterwards all the little jokes that are added on aren't terribly funny. It quickly became clear to me that Design- wasn't going to be funny enough to be worth watching. Is there any way it could have been? Since there doesn't seem to be any ongoing plot or drama, the only way would be if the ordinary jokes were truly Laugh Out Loud funny, and LOL jokes are worth their weight in gold in anime (and, consequently, far too expensive for most shows to afford). We do learn a few things: like, the reason chicken breast and thigh meat (white and dark meat?) taste differently is because the former are meant for short bursts of effort while the latter are for continual modest exertion. I didn't know that. But it was obvious right from the start that the 'animal able to eat high leaves' which the team is asked to design already exists in the form of the giraffe. The team comes up with some ridiculous ideas which were slightly amusing, but hardly worth the expenditure of my precious time. I do give this show credit for some originality and effort, and maybe persons who laugh more readily than me and have time to burn would enjoy it. I genuinely wish it had been better.
