Shachou, Battle no Jikan Desu!
(One episode watched):|
What? That was the first critical thought to occur to me as I watched episode one of Shichibato. Why is this show fooling around with a reluctant boy who is being forced to become president of a company? A company which eventually is revealed to be nothing more than a four-person video game world adventuring team? Is it supposed to be funny? I guess, but it actually is so predictable that it's hard to laugh. There were no genuine surprises--nothing that made me sit up and take notice. The lack of sophistication sort of made it feel like it was intended for children. I started to get the 'I wish the makers of this show had called me up and asked me to make some improvements' feeling, because I am confident that even a total amateur like myself could have done a better job at a lot of things than their writers did. And a wolf-monster whose tail acts as a sort of surprise attack detector? This show makes little sense and some of the characters are annoying. Right from the start it was very weak and doesn't seem to give me much of anything in exchange for my time and trouble.
