Well, shows which tell us something interesting about the anime/manga business have an automatic advantage in my mind. But I didn't get the sense that Comic Girls would go into much detail about the production process, instead my impression was that simple gags of about the quality as one reads in the newspaper each day would be the mainstay of this show. To be fair, it did get a little interesting at one point where we see a few tricks of the trade. But trite stuff like the girl who's a high schooler but looks like an elementary schooler, and the notion that whenever two girls meet whichever one has the smaller breasts is entitled to feel up the other one--that seemed like the strategy this show was employing to attract (male) viewers. I doubt if the characters will get much development--the realism of facial design is usually in direct proportion to the sophistication of the plot, and as you can see character designs are not terribly complex here. I was seeing no signs of genuine quality and therefore decided not to watch the remainder of Comic Girls.
