(Two episodes watched): I was intrigued when, out of nowhere, an anime with obvious ties to the semi-classic Irresponsible Captain Tylor turned up. After all these years, was it a remake? But no, my hopes were rapidly deflated as it became clear that this was a spinoff/sequel which wouldn't include the same cast of characters, and would be composed of nothing more than one-and-a-half minute episodes to boot. It doesn't seem to have anything like the sophistication of the old ICT; it almost feels like a children's show. I doubt if there will be any subtheme of 'is this guy secretly brilliant or just incredibly lucky' or anything like that.
