Attack on Titan is a very serious show with little room for comedy, but a very popular one, too, so the opportunity couldn't be passed up. This is a lighthearted opportunity to vent some of the stress that is liable to build up while watching the original series. Episode one, 'Fly! Trainee Corps" takes place at the training camp where Eren, Mikasa and Armin underwent basic training. It consists of two subplots which both end up in the same bizarre manner. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or scratch my head, but any attempt make use of the comedy domain regarding Titan is sure to be at least a little twisted and I am eagerly looking forward to more. Episode two involves Jean's crush on Mikasa and jealousy of Eren for being her close friend. Again, it has two subplots which both wind up in pretty much the same way as they did in episode one. You can't help but laugh at this comic send-up of a thoroughly grisly show. It would be nice if a viewer could watch a fresh 'special' after each violent and sometimes unnerving main series episode.
