For an OVA meant to be a promotional tie-in for a manga series, the mystery for Domain of Murder was quite engaging and explored some interesting moral dilemmas over justification of taking a life in dire circumstances to ensure one's survival. Goro is investigating the recent murders of a yakuza hitman and a woman where as he investigates both murders, he comes to realize some pretty tragic events that befell the murderer of the cases, leading to a race against time to catch the perp before he goes after a member of his own family. While the animation style doesn't scream high quality, designs of city scenery and character designs are believably detailed and proportioned, portraying a mundane feel for this OVA. There are some logical lapses at points within the OVA (biggest being how the mentioned family member acts normally in spite of the traumatic events that befell him) and you might be curious over Goro's character as there is greater focus on the mystery adapted from its manga source material. But other than that, this is a solid watch worth looking into and can be bought for rather cheap on VHS and DVD online, despite being out of print (got my DVD copy of it for only $4).
