While the idea of a group of magical girls battling each other out to have their wish come true and the homages to Alice in Wonderland have potential on paper, this is sadly wasted with the rather subpar storytelling and cliched characters as so-called plot twists involving the story and characters are poorly elaborated on and largely feel shoehorned in. In short, largely forgettable and underwhelming fare.

↗Alice in Wonderland story to tell a tale of missing 3rd Alice story. Aruto, the male main character, is an avid fan of the Alice stories, who finds himself caught up in a battle between a number of pretty girls over the missing and hidden pages of the 'Eternal Alice' book. He is a bit at a loss at what to do with battling girls, but the lure of a chance to read another Alice story is too great and he finds himself helping out and rooting for one of the 'Alice' girls. So what's not to like? Cute girls who sprout bunny ears with they go into battle mode, strange battles in mystical alternate 'Alice' world and a mysterious quest to collect the pages of a 3rd Alice in Wonderland story. All good elements of a fun story, but tis not enough to make up for a weak plot and uninspiring characters. So while I might fairly rate this Watch, I could see some people rating this series a Rent. Your choice.... Last updated Thursday, December 17 2009. Created Thursday, December 17 2009. |
Based on a 4-volume (2004-2006) manga series by Kaishaku, Eternal Alice does a weird little spin in homage of Lewis Carol's 1865 ||||||||
