I'm playing with throwing the series title back into the series URLs, mostly so that URLs will be meaningful when pasted into forums. There's a difference in implementation this time, however. The series ID still shows up in the URL and is the only part that's used to find the series in the database. So of we edit the title this will have no impact on our ability to lookup the link.

So for instance, xxxHOLiC used to get a URL of:

http://anime.mikomi.org/series/1314.html

And now it'll get one of:

http://anime.mikomi.org/series/1314/xxxHOLiC.html

If no one complains and I'm happy with how it's working out then I'll move this over to the other links on the site too.

We can still use the series ID next to Stats, right?

As long as that works then there should be no worries.

Will I need to change anything about the way I link to different pages? Can I still just type {series:1803} or will that not work anymore?

Well, remember the reason that you changed to numbers was for wacky titles like Mahou Sensei Negima! and Negima!? where the "?" through things into a right mess. ^_^;

@ Xenoknight and Stretch: Yes, [series:1803] will continue to do exactly what it currently does. This isn't a change you all have to work with.

@ AstroNerdBoy: Well, the most compelling reason for the previous change was that changing the name of a series could break incoming links to the series. This addresses that by embeding the ID in the URL. Though you're right, it did have the happy side effect of fixing links that had special chars in it (that were getting eaten by Apache's proxy mechanism). Anyway, I've fixed things for Negima there. The question marks or other special chars shouldn't mess anything up now.

Looks like a green light then. You're clear for take-off! (that means you got the OK to proceed) LOL...

My jokes are terrible, I know...
