I wanted to write a review on 'Dead Leaves' but when I search for it all I see is a bunch of links to other sites. I tried to add it as a new series too but it said it already existed. Did I miss something? How can I add a review for it?

Thanks.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. Haha... I got it now.

There is something wrong with it. I had the same problem with To Love Ru OVA a while ago. Don't worry about it for now. Your title is ready for your review. I'll add the OVA for that one while you write your review.

Edit: and it seems the movie is the OVA so that was a big waste of time but whatever...

Rebecca,

It gives that "raw error" message with the long explanations and coding again. Just like how I showed it in Natsuiro no Sunadokei (Post #2925). It happens when you add a new series and then the site stalls after that error and tells you that the series already exists. If you stop and check the what's new page you'll see the addition but it doesn't go through the first time when you add it. As to say: you add a series and then it transfers you to the review/edit page.

I don't quite believe it's exactly the same. =) Could you post the actual raw_error you're seeing? Those long explanations are quite meaningful to me.

The error you got before was "Table 'anime.keywrod' doesn't exist." And "keywrod" doesn't show up anywhere in my source tree. =)

I would have to try a dummy series to catch the actual error. Let me try a few "Please Delete Me" attempts...

Edit: Got it:

System error

error: Can't escape x{308B}, try uri_escape_utf8() instead at /opt/www/anime/html/addseries.html line 27

context: ... 40: return $@ if $@; 41: goto &shortmess_real; 42: } 43: 44: sub croak { die shortmess @_ } 45: sub confess { die longmess @_ } 46: sub carp { warn shortmess @_ } 47: sub cluck { warn longmess @_ } 48: ...

Why was I credited with updating the Kampfer keywords when I added my review? I never touched them. Jan-chan seems to have been working on them at the same time, however.

1. You started writing your review by loading a HTML page from the server, containing the state of this anime entry at this point in time.

2. Jan-chan changed the keywords.

3. You sent your review to the CAR server. While doing that, along with your text you sent the keywords as they were when you started to write your review, as they are an (invisible) part of the form you filled.

4. Thus you (inadvertently) overwrote whatever modification Jan-chan made. Meaning that it was good to report this, as it may make Jan-chan aware that you effectively deleted their work.

Rebecca's software doesn't appear to check whether you actually changed anything within the form, it just compares the content of the form you sent with the database content (no transaction processing), both of which are computed at different points in time (and thus the database change by another user in the meantime remained unnoticed). This effect may occur whenever two people work on the same anime entry in parallel.

Okay. Thanks for explaining this, DD, and sorry about the deleting I did, JC.
