I have noticed something: When I type 'ID-0' into 'Search Titles' and perform the search, you would think that ID-0 would be the first title to appear, since it is an exact match. But instead I get plenty of other titles, but not ID-0. This may be because (if I remember correctly) this page was originally a duplicate of Renai Boukun which I converted into a page for ID-0.

Ah yeah, it was splitting on the hyphen and that was resulting in every title matching and I had no special case to make exact matches bubble to the top. I've fixed the latter part. While all titles now match, ID-0 is also now the first result.

Perhaps a good Keyword would be 'Virtual Reality' for shows which take place entirely or in part there. 'Otaku Theme' is usually appropriate but not all shows that fall into that category involve VR. 'Video Game Inspired', as I understand it, means anime which were originally video games then became TV/internet shows.

It seems that around this time in an anime season, adding to reviews becomes more difficult because I have already mentioned everything novel about the show, and I can't give away too much about how it will end. Not many new thoughts are coming to mind.

I couldn't access Mikomi yesterday evening, and got a message that Mikomi 'wasn't responding quickly enough' or something like that. Today all is back to normal.

Yeah, the hosting company did an unplanned restart in the afternoon (PST) yesterday, but everything came back up cleanly. Give a shout if you do encounter anything. =)

Something up with the site? My browser prompted me with an alert saying the security certificate for it was expired and winded up having to create an exception in its security settings for me to get on here.

I'm kinda surprised no one has made an "Isekai" or "Another World" tag, considering how popular the genre is these days.

Huuh, we're seeing some MySQL config problems after the last system update, looks like. (They keep deprecating things the site uses—in fairness, the SQL does date from the early 2000s. Fortunately, fixing that should just involve some config settings.)

I too am surprised that Isekai hasn't shown up as a genre, as even I'm aware of it, and I don't watch anime any more. XD (The fandom I do follow gets a LOT of anime crossovers, however, thus…)

I added a couple of recent anime titles to the Isekai category that I could recollect having the premise. Not gonna dig too deep into it as I only come on to update my profile, post reviews, and add on anime pages that have yet to be created.

I suspect that the reason Devil Doll and I lead the list of most entries is because he helped me fix some complicated computer problems around ten years ago. We sent countless posts to each other as he walked me through the process of downloading new software and getting it working.

There are anime in which people get trapped within video games (like SAO), and there are anime in which there are alternate realities which just happen to operate very much like a video game would. Perhaps Isekai-shows and the latter category overlap.

...20, should shows like How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord be labelled as Isekai? (I had never noticed the Isekai category until now).

I have reviewed 2018 titles and found that at least 13 could arguably be classified as Isekai. The thing they have in common is that someone travels to another world at some point. If the summaries mentioned such a thing, I included them. Some whole franchises, like Persona or Overlord could fall into the category.

Having worked on the True Tenchi Muyo! novels for Seven Seas, I did talk to the editors a bit, who told me the Isekai genre is VERY popular. That's why there are so many manga series being licensed where the MC is ported to some fantasy world.

Being on a "trip into my past" (not having watched any anime since Baby Steps after becoming fully aware how shows like Seitokai Yakuindomo or Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! ended up being the last ones that didn't disappoint me due to low expectations right from the start, thus causing me to stop writing reviews), I just tagged a few anime as Isekai (Other World) (which Rebecca might move to the "Story Elements and Location" section), including three "Afterlife" shows (Angel Beats!, Gantz, Haibane Renmei) of which I'm not sure whether they belong there (but don't seem to warrant having their own tag).
That's how I got those many entries in "What's New", including the editing of many "franchise" entries and the Hair Colors page.
The first thing I see now is that neither Ggultra2764 nor Stretch have watched Shuffle! yet... ;-)
And if you're open to something other than animes, I suggest you try watching ↗Real (2013 film) (102 sec trailer) which happened to air in German TV (subtitled) and which I rewatched several times since (this being a drama of Kanon dimensions featuring a manga artist).

Shuffle! is a stinker - for the first half of the series. The second half is more drama than Kanon (2006).

It's almost time for the Spring season, but I am only watching week 9 of the Winter one. I thought about it and realized that while I'm currently watching 12 different series, I wouldn't care all that much if I just dropped about 8 of them without seeing how they end. In other words, Winter 2019 wasn't a brilliant season.
