Well, the SCI-FI channel has decided not to offer (yet) another Babylon 5 rerun, and will begin offering ANI-MONDAY (Animation Monday) starting June 11th. With the intention of running against (the terminal reruns of) ADULT-SWIM, they have hopes of capturing the 18-34 viewership block in the 11pm to 1am time slot by offering new selection of anime.
They will be starting off with ….
- June 11 - GHOST IN THE SHELL: SOLID STATE SOCIETY
- June 18 / 11pm – Noein (ep1)
- June 18 / 11:30pm – Tokko (ep2)
- June 18 / 12am - MACROSS PLUS (part1)
- June 25 / episode 2 or part 2 of previous week

If you mean this
Highlander , then this will be a first. A May 2007 Movie release in Japan and then a July 11th Cable-TV showing? Humm, probably NOT!

Opps .. I found a DVD-based English language fansub floating out there (it has been around for about 10days.) So my last concern is not valid.

Hehe, actually it will be a first. Both GITS:SSS and Highlander the Anime haven't even been properly Fansubbed.

Not true.. I have been able find to valid fansub torrents for both of these items. In fact, the GITS:SSS torrent has just been posted to Tokyo Tosh and (as per my mention) the Highlander fansub was post some ten days ago (not that I have heard of either fansub group.)
I originally thought that GIT:SSS was a cut-n-paste compilation of the 1st & 2nd season, but I stand corrected. It is actually a sequel that takes place two years after the end of the 2nd season.

Both items have been licensed to & distributed by Manga Entertainment. I am going to guess that the SciFI channel has decided to spend some $$ to kick off their anime challange, so we can expect English dubbs for both.
I found a list of the anime that Manga Ent currently has under license (or is the distributer for...) and I am not very impressed. Actually, I wonder what their market place model is for making most of their selections?
