My copy of "Jubei-chan the Ninja Girl" lists Bandai (not Pioneer) as it's distributor. In fact, if you look at the illustration on that page, it says "Bandai" in the corner. Or has Bandai sold the license to Pioneer?

I screwed something up when I started "US Manga Corps" as a new R1, but then realized you had been listing it's titles under "Central Park Media". Only one show, Cyber City Oedo, has the US Manga Corps R1 label.

ANN says that Jubei-chan is Bandai. Jubei-Chan 2 is Geneon AKA Pioneer.

But ANN lists Cyber City as CPM. Manga did the dubbing though.

I see that we've attributed "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth" to ADV--but I was just at the Manga Entertainment Inc. website, which lists the movie in their catalog.

I've stumbled over a number of cases when there are two releases of different R1 distributors, or different parts of a group of related animes released by different companies. So yes, there may be cases when rights have been sold. I'm no expert in this field, I just trust http://www.animeondvd.com (which lists animes grouped by R1 releasers already) - feel free to correct errors I'm making.

I had attributed "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" to Manga Entertainment, since they list it in their catalog--then I found it in the Bandai catalog as well. I went back to Manga Entertainment and read the blurb:

"Manga Entertainment along with Bandai Entertainment is excited to bring you the most exciting new sci-fi series of the year! Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was co-produced by both Manga and Bandai..."

So I guess this one has two R1 distributors!

Looks like "Anime Village.com" no longer exists and has sold it's rights to Bandai--which seems to have passed on "Ehrgeiz", which is probably no longer commercially available (big loss!). I thought maybe Software Sculptors had gone belly-up as well, but although they no longer control Slayers, they seem to be eeking out a liking on titles like Ping Pong Club.

I deleted the reference to US Manga Corps from Cyber City Oedo.

What about renaming "Bandai" to "Bandai (including Anime Village)", similarly to "Geneon (ex Pioneer)"?

Since I think Bandai has gotten only a very small fraction of it's titles from Anime Village, maybe it would make more sense to just create a notable that would read something like "Formerly licensed by Anime Village" to be included along with the Bandai R1 credit within titles which were once property of Anime Village--or just typing a message to this effect within their synopses.

...Or maybe we should only bother to include the names of now-defunct distributors along with titles which are no longer commercially available (Like Ehrgeiz). that might make them easier to track down on E-bay.

Hey, when was the last time that the entire "What's New" page was taken up by a single day's work?

Geneon is Pioneer. They just did that to escape some creditors. ADV is going that way fast and might have to pull a fast one too.

But just put Anime Village (Now Bandai) as the R1 listing.
