Battle Programmer Shirase - 3: Endangered BPS! Remarkable Girl Programmer is an Elementary Schooler!?

Title:Battle Programmer Shirase
Episode:3: Endangered BPS! Remarkable Girl Programmer is an Elementary Schooler!?
Synopsis
Japanese Ground Self Defense Forces staff officer Major Akizuki briefs BPS on a plot to generate an electromagnetic pulse that will devastate all electronic devices. Apparently, this will be done by hacking into the computers of the Defense System, and setting off one of it's own weapons. A voice comes from the PA system, introducing itself as "American Information Navy Information Technology Officer Yoriko Yunoki". She announces that since this is a potentially worldwide threat, the US will be intervening, and firmly requests that some top secret data be forewarded to her. Akira, unexcited as always, casually transmits the data, since it has already "leaked out" anyway. Later, a new student transfers into Misao's class and despite being a brilliant athlete and mathematician eagerly befriends the normally shy and reserved Misao. Misao introduces her new friend to Akira--but she has already heard of him...

Stretch:

Akira seems to have discovered the secret to dealing with computers without going insane, i.e., remaining calm and impassive at all times. What flusters him is the startlingly suggestive manner in which Misao's friend behaves--like an adult woman in a child's body. The concept of an "Information Navy" is interesting, implying that a whole new theater of warfare has been created in cyberspace, as important as warfare on land, sea, or air. At several points in this episode, Akira is described as once being known as MPS, someone who "brought the world to a halt" eight years ago. I wonder what the "M" stood for... The crisis in this episode came and went remarkably quickly--I'm not sure what to make of it. We clearly haven't heard the last of Yunoki, though...

No, MPS isn't a person. Watch episode 5 part 3 to find out.
