Midori no Hibi - 13: Last Days, Our Days

Title:Midori no Hibi
Episode:13: Last Days, Our Days
Synopsis
Midori has disappeared and Seiji's right hand is back to normal. He tells himself he's lucky things have worked out this way, but can't help feeling lonely. Ayase finally declares her love for him, but he says he's sorry, somehow he really has fallen in love with Midori. Kouta comes to visit the full-size Midori, who has awakened from her coma. She seems to remember nothing about being Seiji's hand, and he fears that if he tells her about it, she'll return there. Seiji reluctantly goes to Midori's house to return her diary, but can't bring himself to ring the doorbell. Kouta comes along, and says Midori wants to become his hand again. Watching from a window, Midori feels intensely lonely when Seiji walks away. She asks Kouta where he's gone, and in spite of his fears Kouta advises her to go to him...
Comments
Whether or not Seiji was in love with Midori was a question which went without an answer, or even a clear trend, I thought, right up until this final episode. Sure, being the main characters they have to fall in love, you'd think, but the signs wobbled back and forth--as recently as the last episode Seiji ignored Midori and made a pass at a waitress. Fortunately, this final episode wraps the story up skillfully, and leaves me all warm and tingly, with a smile on my face. The special ED sequence was nice, too.
