Synopsis
Tenchi cries, calling "Kaa-chan" (mom) to the mystery woman who does look exactly like his mother. The woman comforts him, while the girls cry happily for him. Nobuyuki comes down the stairs and calls out the name Kiyone, the name of his deceased wife and Tenchi's mother. The woman gets annoyed, especially when Nobuyuki attempts to kiss her. She knocks him out of the house and into the lake. He emerges and complains while calling her "Tennyo". It seems that this is in fact Tenchi's 80-year old sister (looking very young) and she's there to tell Tenchi that Seto-sama, Ayeka and Sasami's Obaa-san, has arranged a marriage for him and that his fiancee will be arriving any moment. On cue, a green-haired woman who appears to be in her 30's beams in. Thinking this is the fiancee, Ryoko makes a remark about the woman being old, resulting in Ryoko getting slapped around. Mihoshi recognizes the woman as Airi-sama, the head of the Galaxy Police Academy. An irritated Ryoko makes further comments about Airi-san while using Washu as a shield. However, Washu teleports away and Ryoko gets another beating. Yosho shows up and Airi runs to his arms crying "Anata" (~"Honey" or "Darling"). Yosho reveals to the shocked household that this is his wife. Tenchi has left unnoticed by all except Sasami and has gone to the carrot fields to work with Ryo-ohki. As Ryo-ohki chases a butterfly, she nearly falls into the canal, but is rescued by a woman with dark green hair. As she looks at Tenchi, she has a flashback to a time when she was much younger. She mutters, "Onii-chan" before passing out. Meanwhile at the house, Ayeka learns how Yosho and Airi met. She's also told that Tenchi's fiancee is named Noike and that she's the adopted daughter of Seto-sama, Ayeka's grandma. Thus Noike is Ayeka's aunt. Back at the carrot field, Noike comes to and after declaring she feels fine, she samples one of the carrots Tenchi has pulled. She proclaims it to be very good, then introduces herself. Before he can introduce himself, she rescues Ryo-chan from falling into the canal a second time. After a visit from Sasami in which Tenchi requests an additional place be set for Noike. She agrees and returns home while Tenchi invites Noike for lunch. When she realizes that she doesn't know his name, she asks and he tells her. She didn't know she'd been talking and working with her fiancee this whole time. At home, Noike is greeted by her former partner Mihoshi, and Noike quickly takes charge of things getting all of the girls (save Washu) to work in the kitchen. Tenchi learns that Airi-san is in fact his grandmother which surprises him. At lunch, Ryoko goes off on Noike but is immediately defeated when Noike offers to fill her rice bowl a 2nd time. Ayeka decides that it is her term to set Noike straight, but before she can do so, Noike is offering her a glass of iced tea (or so it appeared to be), thus defeating Ayeka. After lunch, Ryoko and Ayeka confess to each other how lacking they are in the kitchen. Meanwhile Tennyo and Tenchi head to the shrine where they come to Airi-san and Yosho. Airi gets offended that Tenchi calls her obaa-chan (grandma) but goes all gooie when he calls her Airi-sama. She decides that being called Airi-san is best, and the four of them sit for tea. After talking for a while, Yosho reveals his true appearance to Tenchi, that of the young warrior Yosho. He asks that Tenchi not reveal this information to Ayeka or the others. Tennyo and Airi-san soon take their leave, with Airi planting a kiss on Tenchi's lips. Tenchi is stunned by all of this, but in typical fashion, his grandfather has no advice for him.
