The first impression I got from this final episode was that although the way the series concludes is by no means bad, I wished that all the different elements of the plot had come together in a more obvious, easy to understand manner. I was left with the feeling that an awfully complex web of various plotlines had been constructed, but not all that much use was made of it in the end. Instead, I was surprised at how abruptly everything ended--as if the message was "we're out of time, everybody lives happily ever after, the end". Having watched the episode a second time, I realise that in fact the way the little details of the plot come together do indeed make more sense than I had first thought--I just couldn't grasp them all in one viewing. |
