| It turns out that Kudo may have been speaking figuratively or just kidding when he made his momentous admission at the end of episode four, which is frustrating. This episode is largely about Yaomay. I thought for a while that she might be a clone, and know it, after she made remarks like "Living the life that is prepared for you means you're giving up the life you could have had otherwise". But it turns out that she was referring to a more traditional sort of prepared life. We learn that her mother is a famous actress, Yangli, and she has been pressured to follow in her footsteps. Yaomay says as a result she's "Not confident about who I am" and "Always worrying about my parents' moods". She and Kujirai get into an argument but later make up. Dr. Hebinuma gets into an altercation on live TV after which he is summoned by his unhappy father. Kudo has a dream about a date with Kujirai B which really freaks him out. |
