The girls, especially Ontan, are jealous of Kiho because she has a boyfriend, Kahuruimaki. The people are told that the alien craft that crashed was unmanned. But the Japanese military knows from surveillance camera footage that US personnel quickly arrived at the site and absconded with the bodies—despite a promise to share any research data with Japan (can't trust those Americans to do anything, can we?). Apparently the aliens have occasionally been sending these small 'saucers' out, but this is the first time a chance has arisen to take a close look at one. Defense Minister Kaminari (a rather ugly man) and Chief Cabinet Secretary Izumida (a black-haired woman) meet with Takarada, manager of the 'Fujin Project'. Takarada is asked when 'the new weapon', Fujin-6, will be ready. This is described as a laser-armed weapons system which 'specializes in close range combat and can neutralize any target'. Apparently it is meant to deal with the small saucers. Kaminari would like to 'clear the skies' before the upcoming Tokyo Expo. Meanwhile, Kadode tells Mr. Watarase, the teacher she has a crush on, that she has decided to take the university entrance exam after all. She says she is thinking of going to the same school as he did and pursuing the same specialty (sociology), and asks if she can stop by his place to borrow his old textbooks. He agrees. Ontan proposes that the girls go and take a look at the alien crash site, but everyone else has something they would rather do. At his apartment, Kadode tells Mr. Watarase that she feels she has 'little to lose'. She identifies Ontan as the person who has always stood up for her since they were both children. “To me, Ontan is absolute” she says. At the crash site, Ontan finds a small device that apparently came from the alien ship, which she dubs 'Object T'. Kadode meets Ontan, but Ontan is angry because Kadode didn't confess her love to the teacher or try to seduce him. They mention that Kadode once 'had the hots' for a male singer named Oba that Ontan frowns upon. But he was killed in the Aug. 31st calamity. Ontan has an obese but strangely handsome brother, Hiroshi, who is basically a NEET who pursues the goal of 'punishing the misguided idiots who keep virtue signaling on social media'. Kadode and Hiroshi once vowed to marry each other, but she considers him 'too fat' nowadays. The Fujin-6 system is delivered to the military and prepared for action. When a 50-meter craft detaches from the mothership, it is authorized to destroy it. Kadode, Ontan and Hiroshi watch as it takes aim, fires, and scored a direct hit, causing the craft to fall to earth. A man appears amid a modest crowd who says “Once again today, many have died”. It appears to be the supposedly dead Oba.
