I was eager for the big showdown between Shin and Kiri, and in episode 21 it finally came. But I did not get what I had been hoping for. While the action was as exciting (and implausible) as ever, and the show could have been satisfied with that, this episode seemed determined to confuse the hell out of me. "He (Kiri) shares your blood!" Frederica declares to Shin. She mentions the 'House of Nouzen', as if Shin had once been an aristocrat. I can't help thinking that we are supposed to be shocked to learn than Kiri is literally yet another brother of Shin, but that makes no sense whatsoever. I don't catch every hint that is dropped along the way, but I am confident that a fantastical revelation such as this would have gotten enough foreshadowing that even I would have sensed that something was building. But I didn't; it seems to come out of left field. Has there ever been any mention that Shin might have more than one brother? I wonder if the makers of the anime were authorized to come up with their own arc conclusion for an incomplete story. At one point a barrage of firepower from some unknown source distracts Morpho just when it seems to have Shin on the ropes. I figured the Nordricht squadron had finally caught up, but some at ANN theorized that Lena was responsible. Didn't we last see her amidst a seemingly hopeless situation back in the capital of San Magnolia? Whatever the case may be, let's be done with this nonsensical arc and move on with the story. By all rights, Shin should be dead after being caught in a colossal explosion, but we have already seen what happens in situations like this. P.S: I am told that Kiri is in fact a distant relative of Shin, perhaps a cousin.
