OK, so Shin and the others aren't dead after all--that was the number one question left unanswered at the end of season one. These formerly despised warriors find themselves being treated like kings in the Giad Federacy, with the president himself inviting them into his home. It's all too good to be true, and while president Zimerman and his country in general don't seem to be particularly evil some things are clearly being kept from the five. A high ranking officer recommends that for safety's sake they simply be executed, but Zimerman has some sort of idea (he mentions using them as a 'replacement' for something/someone). Also, the supposedly orphaned girl, Federica Rosenfort, that they share the president's mansion with is actually the 'Empress', whatever that means. Lena is unaware of their fate and has reconstructed Spearhead into the efficient and effective unit it used to be. Episode one basically sets up this strange new scenario and other than that little happens, so it's impossible to say how well it will work out, but I am eager for more.
