Stretch: Whereas the third episode of several other Spring series was the one which convinced me that they weren't worth watching to the end, episode three of Titan only improved its standing in my mind and earned it a place as one of my season favorites. Basically, the three teens are in training camp, and must master a difficult test of their balance skills, since they will apparently be learning to use some sort of complex bungee cord powered human catapulting system to fight the Titans. I don't know if this device will seem plausible, but the way the story is being told here makes perfect sense. We get to know Eren even better, especially his determination and willpower, as he struggles to pass the test. Several other series lost my interest because their characters were uninteresting, but this episode of Titan was all about character development. The amount of time this show spends developing characters only reminds us of how shallow and stereotypical the characters on the vast majority of anime series are. This show is definitely on the right track so far.
