Devil Doll:
I didn't have much hope about this episode already, but it failed to meet even my low expectations. Party ruckus aside, now somehow all the girls have joined Kyousuke's harem, of which only Kuroneko and Manami should have a valid reason given the previous development (and Kuroneko names the meganekko "Belphegor" for a reason! It's amazing how Manami is better even than Saori in becoming friend with almost everyone). Why would Kanano of all people now consider herself a valid contender, and why did even Saori play along, to Kyousuke's visible disappointment? Have they all gone nuts in a second? (Or what kind of aphrodisiacs did Manami put into their meals?) Kirino's choice of Ayase for the task was the logical one, and nothing should have happened thereafter except for a few delusions of a horny 17-year-old - and until near the end the episode seemed to deliver that, only to end in the most implausible way.
I have to say that Ayase-tan is a crazy bitch, claiming to hate lies so much and at the same time being full of them herself. Can she possibly have "had her eyes on the boy" early on while using him as her punching-bag every so often? I would have accepted her to make peace with Kyousuke and apologize after learning first-hand that he's a just a normal guy working hard for his test - but not fall for him! And how could Kyousuke, having been all giddy whenever he thought of "my angel", reject Ayase without hesitation, not even telling her that he was fawning all over her for a long time? Both were acting completely out of character in this episode.
Heavens, has this show lost its focus now. The siblings' issue and Kuroneko as catalyst, that would have worked. A harem story with Kirino as the incest member, that's just a poor wishful thinking show of a boy without friends.

Ayase's sudden interest in Kyosuke stemmed from an event in the light novels that wasn't covered in the anime where Kyosuke had saved Ayase from a stalker, who was actually a fan blogger who assumed Ayase and Kyosuke were dating with Kyosuke clearing up the misunderstanding. It might not satisfy those who may hate the potential implications going on with the Kosaka siblings. But the mentioned light novel-only event and the time Ayase spent with Kyosuke throughout the month would cover why the former starts gaining interest in Kyosuke. As for Ayase and Kyosuke's development, I interpreted it more as Kyosuke teasing the girl yet seeing her as somewhat of a friend/ confidant despite the frequent abuse he takes from her thanks to his "sexual harassment". Ayase still felt somewhat begrudged towards him from the guy giving up his good name in the fourth episode of season one. But the time they spent together throughout the month (which the anime did clearly state) seemed to rekindle Ayase's interest in Kyosuke, hence I wouldn't consider their reactions towards one another to be unnatural.

Devil Doll:
The anime having skipped the stalker arc may explain Ayase's growing feelings (and then be bad storywriting of the anime serialization, i. e. a. valid complaint from all audience who doesn't read the novels) but neither her weird statement that she considered him a potential husband (!) from early on nor Kyousuke's instant rejection of her confession. This boy was fawning over Ayase during the whole first season, and even when he was dating Kuroneko he would have been putty in Ayase's hands for nothing more than a smile of her - and now he doesn't need a second to reject the crying girl, after peeping her in the shower? No, I don't buy that. Why didn't he at least reject her with the excuse that Kirino doesn't want him to date anyone? That would have been in character, and at the same time be alarming news for Ayase who would then sense for the first time there's incest trouble ahead.

ggultra2764:
The interactions between Kyosuke and Ayase for the episode, in my eyes, were more the two feeling awkward at their rather unique predicament and the show clearly having some fun at their expense as it was a big tease to get folks thinking they might actually become a couple, especially when Kuroneko's younger sister misunderstood the situation following Kyosuke's attempt at peeping. Why else do you think the show set up the big squabble between the members of Kyosuke's unwanted harem at his party in the first half? ^_^

Devil Doll:
But "feeling awkward" would have been fine with me (and the interlude with Kuroneko's sister was nice) while Ayase confessing in tears was not - instead she should have asked for resetting their relation to a normal acquaintance level (after her always using Kyousuke as her punching-bag) instead of jumping so far ahead already.

There's two possibilities what the story writers should have done:
  • Either skip the Ayase interlude completely (as it doesn't add anything to the core elements of the story, being the siblings' bracon/siscon relation and the otaku theme)
  • or handle it correctly. The latter would have required to include the stalker arc in order to give Ayase a credible character development (as opposed to falling in love for no plausible reason which happened in the anime; remember how I was wondering what happened with Ayase's attitude in episode 11 already).
But the show has lost its focus anyway by going the harem path (and probably the incest ending to boot, as this is en vogue in the age of Yosuga no Sora and the like), so one contender more or less doesn't make that much of a difference. It's just one more letdown for the audience who was hoping for a more plausible development during the second season after the first one having been so episodic and implausible with Kirino's amazing success as manga & anime artist. Kyousuke not accepting Kirino's lead killed this show for me.
