I can't help feeling that Golgo 13 is an extremely cool character who finally got an overdue TV series--and then the quality was disappointing. This episode seemed to have the bare bones of an intriguing story: a hijacking that doesn't make sense, a secret plan which does, and a neat shooting trick by Duke to put an end to it. But the details feel sloppy. How did Jose's sister know that she wouldn't be killed outright in the hijacking? Are even armored vans tough enough to shrug off an anti-tank rocket? Why did Jose shoot a certain person who posed no threat to him? At least Duke's trick at the end was unexpected, and although I'm sure that nobody would be foolhardy enough to try it in real life, it could work. It just seems that a halfhearted effort was being made to tell this story in an exciting manner. Also, was this episode supposed to expose some sort of deep seated prejudice against women with black hair? I wish we'd get more episodes like number two.
