Synopsis
Rumor has it that boomers working underground have been disappearing in the city's outlying areas. No humans have been harmed, so the missing boomers didn't go berserk, yet the stories seem to be censored anyhow. Another curious bit of evidence: the area where the boomers vanished contained secret, shady biolabs before the great earthquake.

This seems to be part one of a two-part episode. What I don't get is how seemingly mechanical robots (boomers) transform into hideous monsters and grow to tremendous sizes when they go berserk. BGC 2040 is certainly worth watching (especially when you got all but one VHS tape from RightStuf for 99 cents!), but to be honest so far I prefer the OVAs--style over substance, you might say.
