| Vash is a hero yet again in Inepril City, having prevented a catastrophic reactor meltdown. He prefers to be on his own though, and attempts to slip out of town aboard the "sandsteamer". But, as Meryl observes, "trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes", in this case an encounter with the "Badlands Gang" led by "Brilliant Dynamites Neon" (B.D.N.). | |

| In this case the trouble Vash runs into seems to be the result of a genuine coincidence, unlike most of the problems that plague him. After being drugged and left unconscious, Vash sees Rem in a dream--at this point all we know about her is that she is a beautiful and highly optimistic young woman. | |
