A year before the battle of Sekigahara that ended the Sengoku Period, the ninja Saizou Kirigakure meets the miko Nami Isa as she's attacked by assassins. Her shrine was destroyed by Tokugawa Ieyasu for siding with Yukimura Sanada. Meanwhile, Sanada has been gathering ten warriors known as Sanada's Brave 10, who have the power to change history. Ichibanbashi hates Samurai, because one of them, a member of a strange, mask-wearing group, killed his parents. Now, his antics as 'the Samurai Killer' have gotten him arrested and condemned to death. But he finds himself among six other condemned criminals who are given a second chance: to prevent a breakdown of law and order, they must act as substitutes for recently assassinated leaders of the Shinsengumi. Ichibanbashi would rather die, until he learns that the assassins--the 'Masked Demons'--were probably the same group as killed his parents. From now on, he'll be posing as a man named Kondou Isami. |

Watch | Kamio Misuzu is a female high school student who's missed many classes, so many that's she's thought of by her classmates as a delinquent. Yet she volunteers to do fieldwork on the local history of the town she lives in, and chooses to do the legend story of a miko named Uraha, a palace guard named Ryuuya, and the princess held captive at that palace named Kannabi no Mikoto (Kanna). At the same time, a drifter named Kunisaki Yukito-san comes to town with his small puppet, with which he can make it magically move. Drawn by fate, Yukito-san ends up assisting Misuzu with her fieldwork and the two fall in love, following a similar patter as Ryuuya and Kanna did many centuries before. |
