Junta Shiraishi doesn't have nearly as much of a presence as most people. In fact, he is effectively 'invisible like air', so it is hard to get other people to even acknowledge his existence. Only Nagisa Kubo, a good and athletic student with a strong presence, can readily see him. She often teases him and one wonders whether she hates him or has some other sort of feelings.

A ways into episode one I said to myself 'Umm, this isn't working'. The whole notion that Shiraishi is so reluctant to draw attention to himself, and so good at avoiding it, that he is effectively invisible is hard to take seriously. I can only guess that it is all supposed to be a joke, but in order to be funny a joke has got to make sense in an unexpected way, and this makes no sense at all. There's the convenience store clerk who initially can't see him even though he is standing right in front of her--no matter how unassertive a person is, she would have to be blind to miss that. There's only so far an introvert (or whatever) can go to avoid attention. And it seems that Shiraishi actually wants people to pay attention to him--he rues the fact that he apparently 'can't be the main character of his own adolesence'. So, someone who wants attention somehow gets even less of it than those who would rather avoid it. Somehow this girl, Kubo, can see him; about the only explanation would be that she likes him for some reason, but she struck me as annoying. Will she try to train him how to interact with other people in a healthy manner? That might be interesting, but all the signs I was getting were that this show had no intention of delving into psychology and personality and instead would be a simple comedy with a strange premise. But the jokes are extremely weak, the characters are uninteresting, and I quickly concluded that I was just wasting my time watching this.

It appears that this show has only six episodes, which would make it a sort of half-season series. These seem to be showing up every now and then nowadays. It might not be a bad idea; some stories don't have enough material for a full twelve episodes and eventually feel like they have overstayed their welcome.
