Miko Kurono, also known as the live streamer "Necronomico," struggles to get by. Her mother is in a coma-like condition in the hospital after she collapsed while doing some streaming herself (there have been a number of these mysterious cases recently). Miko gets a too-good-to-be-true e-mail offering her a job to participate in some sort of game trial. Along with a good number of other 'Livers' (Live Streamers) she goes to meet a representative of the Megalox Corporation, and they are welcomed to the 'ultra-futuristic VRgame system, GADUS'. The system, in which their whimsical avatars more about in three dimensions, seems difficult but challenging. But it turns out that there is a link to what happened to Miko's mother.

I wasn't eager to watch a show whose characters looked like those from LEGO movies, but they don't seem to be in that mode all of the time and Miko and her sort-of friend Kagurazaka Kanna are kind of fun. Almost to the end of the first episode the game trial seemed legit, then all of a sudden we are told that 'ancient evil gods' infest this game system and unless you want to be driven mad you must win. So it is a horror show after all. I only vaguely understood this premise; how did 'ancient gods' get into a game system? Does Megalox know about it? Why are these evil gods trying to torment these Livers? It came so quick and amid such an already wild and confusing situation that I didn't know just what to take seriously. Are these wild characters part of the game or evil gods? The latter, I think. Maybe episode two will clarify things.
