This second season of Berserk depicts the earlier story development of the Falcon of the Millennium Empire arc from Guts resuming his journey with Casca following the events of the Conviction arc to gaining the Berserker Armor. This series is quite faithful to the manga's events for 10 of its 12 episodes, though it lacks the subtlety and tension from the manga that helped enhance the mood of the anime's storytelling during key points of its plot and the anime's subpar visuals retained from the first season take away quite a bit from the visual horror depicted of the Apostles and other supernatural creatures seen throughout the season. The later two episodes have quite a bit that got cut from the manga's events, which appears to be a deliberate move since a new major enemy threat was supposed to be introduced following Guts' battle with Grunbeld. While this season is a slight improvement from the 2016 season thanks to more faithfully following the manga's events, it still suffers from not faithfully depicting the tone of the manga, retaining the same drawing style of the 2016 anime, and putting quite the cut to its later two episodes. If you did not enjoy the 2016 anime adaptation of Berserk, you will likely not be enjoying this one any differently.
