The synopsis above (as of this review) didn't catch my attention rather, the artwork to the right of it did. I found it pretty kawaii looking... and not to mention I ran out of other series to watch so I picked this one up. It's a good one for the humor and kawaii characters.

Art, Animation & Character Designs
Artwork is pretty darn good. It seems above the norm with rich colors and hight amount of details. The lighting effects were great and the blend of shadows and ambient lighting gave the artwork depth. Animation was smooth as well. Character designs were the best. All the girls were just too kawaii!

Music
The OP was just too cute. OMG it was just too cute! It was almost childish but somehow got my feet tapping and head bobbing to the silly lyrics and cute vocals. The ED was sorta cute. It was a light pop piece with female vocals.... almost something kids would sing.

Series and Episode Story
I somehow ended up enjoying this series. I think the charm of it was the darn super kawaii OP and the cute characters.... especially the whole "neko" premise. This series is episodic since it really didn't have a plot. Although we do get a sliver of one developing near the end but was quickly lost. But that's just fine as this series didn't really need one.... since it was a conglomoration of silly characters, silly antics and at times sorta didn't make sense... but it was still fun to watch.

For the most part, this series is pretty funny and the bantor between our characters (mainly leads) are clever and fun. Our female characters all all so darn kawaii... even the mean spirited "Serizawa". And as well, we did get a bit of fan service.... which was tastefully done and not in your face.

Overall, this series is just fun. Love the characters, the silly antics all throughout the series. do watch just for the humor.

Watch Stretch [series:2265#628]
(All episodes watched):

Half an hour after watching Mayoi Neko Overrun I giggled when I thought back about it; twelve hours later I have a hard time remembering just what had happened at all. Perhaps that's because this was a confusing--no, a crazy--show. It had a wacky, sort of slapdash plotline, and a touch of unusual style. Not as freaky as it might have been, like FLCL; instead it seemed like it was halfway between the usual tired teenage sexuality gags and instead becoming a clever parody of the same. This fairly bizarre show is difficult to describe and review. I was afraid that there wouldn't be any explanation at all of the mysterious catwoman, but we get a teaser at the very end of the episode. I would say this should be at least good for some decent laughs.

After episode two I would describe this series as not terribly hilarious, but it has a touch of originality amidst all the predictable stuff. The banter between the characters is fairly clever, and the self-irreverence is fun. As of episode five there has still been no explanation of what exactly the catgirl is or where she came from; maybe this show won't even try. It seems to me that a couple episodes have been fun while the rest have been tired and uninteresting. Episode one was bizarre but afterwards this seems to settle into the usual pattern of simple episode plots and modest jokes. I would describe this as a thoroughly average show with neither anything exceptionally good nor anything terribly wrong with it. Probably a 'Watch'.

This show deserves some praise for episode seven, which was a parody of mecha anime series in general. The only problem was that I didn't get all that many laughs out of it, which made it seem more like a generic mecha episode, ripped out of any of countless series, than like a true parody. Transposing the cast of MNO into mobile suits was good for one joke, but didn't exactly carry the episode all the way to the end. It was modestly amusing though, and points for trying.

OMG! Episode eleven suggests we may actually get some sort of explanation of Nozomi's origins after all--I had almost abandoned all hope that this might ever happen. The bloomers vs. spats contest wasn't really amusing enough; my thoughts were that I wished they'd get it over with and tell us some more about Nozomi's secrets. The Broadway style musical act was kind of fun, though. This show seems to go to some considerable lengths to make bizarre episodes, but somehow can't seem to scrape up the talent that is needed to reach their full potential.

The climax comes in the next-to-last episode... and it was remarkably unremarkable. A halfhearted attempt is made to seperate Nozomi from her newfound friends and family, but it is just as quickly abandoned when she objects. Above all, the episode doesn't even mention the single question which has been most on my mind since episode one: Why the hell does Nozomi have cat ears and behave like a cat? A lukewarm climax to a lukewarm series. Episode 13 is sort of MST3000-like, as scenes from each episode are replayed and the three principal girls comment on them. While it was modestly amusing, I noticed that I had already forgotten a good deal about the storyline of this show, which says a lot about MNO in general. An amusing but unmemorable series.

My favorite line: "It's nice that girls can share such 'skinship' " --Takumi

Can we say NEKO-LITE? But then again, that might be giving this series too much credit. NEKO-AEROGEL?

Fluffy harem humor with lots of stereotypical girl characters. And then a purple-haired cat-eared girl gets thrown into the mix.

After watching all of the episodes, I can only say that there is NOT TOO MUCH to this series. But it can still be kinda fun if you are into silly harem humor....

Was there really any point to this?
