| Two days before the millennium is coming to an end, the boys are talking about how Nostradamus' prophecies were totally off the year before, and how much has happened since then. Makoto and Yoshihiko tease each other about their girlfriends, but questioning Kyoichi about Chiharu doesn't cheer the boy up. And when Chiharu happens to pass by, Kyoichi's friends politely retreat... [image1]
Meanwhile, lots of rumours are spreading, such as: "If you're together with the one you love at the end of the millennium then your love will grow." which is what Natsue read in a magazine and tells Yoshihiko. When he agrees to go out with her on year's end she enthusiastically confesses her love to him in public [image2]. Chiharu happens to overhear the whole scene and now wonders whether she should believe this rumour. At the same time, Makoto and Yumi look up a rumour in the internet claiming that "If you're together with the one you love at the end of the millennium then you two will eventually part." And Kyouchi happens to sit on a bench nearby [image3]. Needless to say that Aki happens to read that Nostradamus foretold the collapse of the world on December 31st, 2000... There's not much actually happening this time, but the suspense whether a certain thing will happen lasts until the very end of this episode. And both the mood and the music are wonderful. This is the Love Hina Christmas Special of this series somehow, and almost a summary of all developments so far. All the relevant characters of this series have at least one cameo appearance, and we get to see how the lead characters are effected by those different millennium rumours in one way or another. In certain situations even deciding not to date a girl can make her very happy... This episode effectively concludes the series - except for one unresolved issue which will have to be dealt with in episode 13. And this question starts with a scene that looks like a filler element... ==================================== | |
