Synopsis
To celebrate the new year, Iwaki and Rizel visit a shrine. Rizel mentions the belief that if a couple holds hands on the stairway, they'll have many children--which makes Tomonori hesitate. The Mamas conclude that he was so shocked by the experience at Christmas (even though they never actually did the "Adult C") that he may have lost all interest in Rizel. After misunderstanding Rizel's account of what happened and being angered by the affection Hououin is now showing towards Kyouko, Aoi-chan gives Rizel a set of instructions to follow, saying that they'll make Iwaki become attracted to her again. In fact, it's a set of divorce papers and accusations of him being a "weirdo". Tomonori is offended and angrily signs the papers--an act which is immediately detected by an American spy satellite orbiting high above Japan...

While watching this particular episode, it occured to me that one of the strengths of this show is that it includes little plot strands which extend between episodes--things which I was surprised to see mentioned more than once. With episodes this short, there had certainly better be some decent continuity to the plot! Why is Iwaki considered so valuable all over the world?
