| In Paris, professional assasin Mirielle Bouquet recieves a cryptic E-mail: "Make a pilgrimage for the past, with me". Though she initially scoffs at it as "stupid", she eventually travels to Japan to meet the sender. At a construction site, teenage schoolgirl Kiriko Yumura displays an ornate pocketwatch/music box which Mirielle recognizes, then leads her on a chase through an unfinished building. Along the way they are attacked by a number of strange gunmen, who they handily deal with. Kirika takes out most of them, to Mirielle's surprise. "I don't know why I know how to do this" Kirika says. She lives alone in a house, with an elaborately detailed pair of fake parents, supposedly overseas, created to support the ruse. She says when she "came to", she was in the house and had lost all previous memory. Awaiting her was a school uniform, I.D. card--and a pistol... |
