Synopsis
Noticing Kirino has no one to share her hobbies with, Kyousuke asks for advice from his friend, Manami Tamura, who suggests that she make some otaku friends. Kirino joins an on-line community and is invited to an otaku tea party at a maid café in Akihabara.

Devil Doll: Hopes revived. A slice of life episode low on comedy, with some reasonable decisions and several experiments with interesting results, and the otaku theme being much more than an add-on here. The first really likable character Saori is another plus, and even the music wasn't as unnerving as before. Kyousuke's classmate and neighbor Manami (glasses girl and apparently infatuated with him) doesn't get enough air time so far but both Characters and Story may have upside potential, so a "Rent" rating isn't out of question yet. Stretch: Episode two was kind of fun as we meet two new female otaku characters. They each had the quality of making me wonder why they behaved the way they did, and thus want to watch more. One thing I may never understand is why Kyousuke tolerates the way his obnoxious sister treats him. She has to do something to earn his help (like maybe say 'thank you') if she expects it to continue. I hope he doesn't just quickly become addicted to Eroge games himself, and that is passed off to us as an explanation. But in general I'm curious at this point to see where this story will go; or, to put it another way, episode two was better than episode one.
