Title:Busou Renkin
Episode:20: With Mind and Power
Synopsis
Seperated from Tokiko and Gouta by Himawari's attack, Kazuki wanders through a construction site at dusk until he finds his way blocked by his former mentor and comrade, Captain Bravo. "Let's end this here" Bravo proposes, and a wild battle ensues. Both combatants display fantastic powers and the duel goes on well past sundown. Tokiko and Gouta are drawn to the noise and flashes of light, and catch a glimpse of the two moving at incredible speed. Kazuki, who has refused to "Victorize", is nearing the limits of his endurance, and employs a last-ditch tactic to no avail. "That was some strategy" Bravo says, "but it won't work". And he prepares to finish Kazuki off...

An entire episode devoted to one fight; there was little or no dialogue for minutes at a time. At first I was thinking this was getting kind of Dragonball Z-ish, but I think I rush through these episodes too quickly the first time around. On rewatching it and paying closer attention, I realize that there is some significant plot development after all. This episode definitely could have been better, but wasn't bad by any means. There is a certain tragedy to these two former comrades who are now obliged to fight each other. This is not just a stupid "let's see who's stronger" fight, rather Bravo is trying to kill Kazuki, and Kazuki may have to kill Bravo to defend himself. The outcome could have been more moving, but it made some sense. This show is definitely good at ending episodes in a tantalizing way, leaving the viewer eager for more. I hope I misinterpreted the implications made during the next episode preview, because I definitely don't want to lose a certain colorful character!
